AI is a rapidly growing field with endless applications. From automating tasks, like text processing, to resource management, to intelligent cameras and more, AI technology is bringing a whole new level of productivity and value to businesses. This webinar will present the latest technology and discuss some of AI's cutting-edge applications.

future of ai news

AI has come far since its humble beginnings in 1956 at Dartmouth College. This conference was the place where many of the world's top researchers met with industry leaders. It is also where AI began to take root. The field has seen many advancements since then. In particular, advances in computer vision and robotics have been made. These advancements have made AI a reality.

Machine learning is a subset of AI

Machine learning refers to the creation of algorithms that predict future behaviors. It has been used in numerous applications, from Google filtering spam and malware to banks detecting suspicious transactions. It is also used to recognize voice commands, such as Amazon's Alexa. Doctors can also interpret test results using machine learning algorithms.

Machine learning is a subset artificial intelligent systems and is a method for teaching machines how to learn from their experience. Machine learning algorithms are not like traditional artificial intelligence which require explicit programming. Instead, they learn from experience and improve over time. These algorithms are classified into two types: unsupervised and supervised. Reinforcement learning employs algorithms that learn using training data and adjust the weights to take into account variable inputs.

Machine learning's goal is to minimize errors in prediction compared to ground truth. An error function can be used to calculate the difference between the model's estimate of a given example and the known example. This "evaluate and optimize" process is repeated over again until an acceptable level of accuracy is achieved.

It is a subset CompSci

CompSci’s Artificial Intelligence Institute webinars provide a free webinar on Artificial Intelligence. This webinar series introduces the basic concepts of AI. You will also find case studies and business insight. These webinars are free and hosted by top researchers in the field, including Intel faculty members and CompSci faculty.

Artificial intelligence, a branch of computer sciences, draws from many disciplines, including neuroscience, psychology, cognitive science, and more. This branch of science can be used in many areas, including engineering and software development. Many branches of AI are intertwined including neural networks.

While the idea of a machine that can learn and think on its own has long been present, it has taken a while for the field to mature. AI research began in 1956 with the Dartmouth College's first AI conference. It attracted both major industry and government leaders. AI has seen significant improvements since then. While the GPS algorithm of Newell and Simon was a big step forward, they lacked the sophistication needed to solve difficult problems. Other significant advances came from the work of McCarthy and Weizenbaum, who devised the Lisp language for AI programming and the ELIZA natural language processing program. These breakthroughs provided the basis for chatbots and other AI system.

FAQ

How does AI work?

Understanding the basics of computing is essential to understand how AI works.

Computers save information in memory. Computers interpret coded programs to process information. The code tells the computer what it should do next.

An algorithm is a set of instructions that tell the computer how to perform a specific task. These algorithms are often written using code.

An algorithm is a recipe. A recipe may contain steps and ingredients. Each step represents a different instruction. For example, one instruction might say "add water to the pot" while another says "heat the pot until boiling."

How does AI work?

An artificial neural networks is made up many simple processors called neuron. Each neuron receives inputs form other neurons and uses mathematical operations to interpret them.

Neurons are organized in layers. Each layer performs a different function. The first layer receives raw information like images and sounds. Then it passes these on to the next layer, which processes them further. Finally, the output is produced by the final layer.

Each neuron also has a weighting number. This value is multiplied with new inputs and added to the total weighted sum of all prior values. If the result exceeds zero, the neuron will activate. It sends a signal down to the next neuron, telling it what to do.

This continues until the network's end, when the final results are achieved.

Who is leading the AI market today?

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is an area of computer science that focuses on creating intelligent machines capable of performing tasks normally requiring human intelligence, such as speech recognition, translation, visual perception, natural language processing, reasoning, planning, learning, and decision-making.

There are many types of artificial intelligence technologies available today, including machine learning and neural networks, expert system, evolutionary computing and genetic algorithms, as well as rule-based systems and case-based reasoning. Knowledge representation and ontology engineering are also included.

Much has been said about whether AI will ever be able to understand human thoughts. But, deep learning and other recent developments have made it possible to create programs capable of performing certain tasks.

Google's DeepMind unit has become one of the most important developers of AI software. Demis Hashibis, the former head at University College London's neuroscience department, established it in 2010. DeepMind developed AlphaGo in 2014 to allow professional players to play Go.

Why is AI so important?

According to estimates, the number of connected devices will reach trillions within 30 years. These devices will include everything from cars to fridges. The Internet of Things (IoT) is the combination of billions of devices with the internet. IoT devices will be able to communicate and share information with each other. They will be able make their own decisions. A fridge might decide whether to order additional milk based on past patterns.

It is anticipated that by 2025, there will have been 50 billion IoT device. This is a huge opportunity to businesses. But it raises many questions about privacy and security.

What is the most recent AI invention?

Deep Learning is the newest AI invention. Deep learning (a type of machine-learning) is an artificial intelligence technique that uses neural network to perform tasks such image recognition, speech recognition, translation and natural language processing. Google created it in 2012.

Google was the latest to use deep learning to create a computer program that can write its own codes. This was accomplished using a neural network named "Google Brain," which was trained with a lot of data from YouTube videos.

This allowed the system to learn how to write programs for itself.

IBM announced in 2015 that it had developed a program for creating music. Another method of creating music is using neural networks. These are known as "neural networks for music" or NN-FM.

What are some examples AI apps?

AI is used in many fields, including finance and healthcare, manufacturing, transport, energy, education, law enforcement, defense, and government. Here are just a few examples:

  • Finance - AI is already helping banks to detect fraud. AI can spot suspicious activity in transactions that exceed millions.
  • Healthcare - AI is used to diagnose diseases, spot cancerous cells, and recommend treatments.
  • Manufacturing - AI is used to increase efficiency in factories and reduce costs.
  • Transportation - Self driving cars have been successfully tested in California. They are currently being tested all over the world.
  • Utilities use AI to monitor patterns of power consumption.
  • Education - AI is being used for educational purposes. Students can interact with robots by using their smartphones.
  • Government - AI is being used within governments to help track terrorists, criminals, and missing people.
  • Law Enforcement – AI is being utilized as part of police investigation. The databases can contain thousands of hours' worth of CCTV footage that detectives can search.
  • Defense - AI can be used offensively or defensively. An AI system can be used to hack into enemy systems. Protect military bases from cyber attacks with AI.

How To

How to create an AI program

A basic understanding of programming is required to create an AI program. Although there are many programming languages available, we prefer Python. There are many online resources, including YouTube videos and courses, that can be used to help you understand Python.

Here's how to setup a basic project called Hello World.

First, you'll need to open a new file. You can do this by pressing Ctrl+N for Windows and Command+N for Macs.

Enter hello world into the box. Enter to save this file.

Now press F5 for the program to start.

The program should display Hello World!

But this is only the beginning. If you want to make a more advanced program, check out these tutorials.
